Horseback Safari in Mossel Bay

Horseback Safari in Mossel Bay

Looking for a natural way to experience the African wilderness? We’ve got the perfect adventure activity for you! Escape into the rolling fynbos-covered mountains outside of Mossel Bay in search of roaming wildlife such as rhinos, elephants, antelope and giraffe at one of the most popular game lodges in the area.

You don’t need to be able to ride like a cowboy – this activity is for all levels of experience and you can choose a pace that suits you, in a time frame from 1 to 2 hours.

Experience nature and freedom like they did in the old times and enjoy the scent of the indigenous plant life (it’s called the Garden Route for a reason), breathtaking views of the hills and mountains and sightings of the free-roaming wildlife. The best part is: you will be doing it all on horseback. All you need to do is take charge of your trusty steed and let your nature guide take you to where the wild things roam. Your guide will keep you safe and tell you all about the private reserve and any animals you might see on your horse ride. This is the wild Western Cape at it’s best.

Your horse will be chosen according to your skill level – beginner, intermediate and experienced. If you are an experienced rider then take up the reins and gallop into the sunset; otherwise take a gentle ride and enjoy the wind in your hair on your search for the Big Five.

This tour can be booked for any day of the week, and almost any time of the day, although as this is a popular activity so it’s best to do your booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
All equipment and gear is provided – but if you feel like bringing along a carrot for your horse that’s up to you!

Please note that the wild animals in this game park are free-roaming which means sightings are very likely but can’t be guaranteed.
